Agreed, Ian,

If all those who ran a company or offered some kind of service were excluded I fear that Naace membership would immediately be cut in half and all funding disappear!

Surely, whoever employs us, we should still be able to make a contribution based on our expertise?

NAACE rules do not forbid anyone from making relevant comments and many
people on these lists work in the commercial sector.
