Just to clear up a couple of things. Firstly all the materials on the
INGOT community site are licensed for free use under a Creative Commons
Share alike license. Anyone is free to take them, modify them or re-use
them. If you don't like what we put there but you want to use some bits
of it, fine, take it and change it. The assessment criteria there are
not intended to be tick lists any more than the APP criteria or the NC
statements of attainment are, however, in any assessment there has to be
some sort of criteria that can be used to match to learning outcomes.
Generally, teachers set their own contexts for learning. There are links
to national exemplars of standards.

The community site is supported by the EU Lifelong Learning Programme
through a transfer of innovation grant and income from the Ofqual
accredited qualifications that are based on the criteria and guidance on
the community site. These have to be "sold" to pay for the quality
assurance and any money left goes back into the community site
development. So if I have upset anyone by posting what I intended to be
simply helpful information, I apologise.

I agree with John in that contexts for learning are all important and
teachers in my experience generally understand this. While we will
suggest and provide support for what we think are good teaching
strategies to promote AfL on the community site,
(http://theingots.org/community/ITQcourse1 is an example for KS3/4) we
don't force anyone to do anything. No-one needs to pay us anything to
use these resources. The whole point is that you can take and adapt
things to meet your own needs without having to worry about copyright or
starting from scratch.
