We, at the Vital project, are embarking on the development of the next
tranche of courses. Our guiding watchwords are collaboration and
openness. To these ends we are inviting members of the ICT, IT and e-
learning communities to help shape these courses - an open course
movement. We have posted some initial ideas online in a wiki at

Vital, the CPD programme for ICT teachers in schools from the OU and e-
skills, was launched at BETT last month. Amongst its CPD offerings are
courses, activities and resources. We provide spaces for providers to
market, and/or to host, their own CPD activities and courses and for
all members of the community to have their own space. These can all be
